About Rib Rides of St Ives

Established in 2005 as a family run concern, we have now run over 700 hours of high speed and eco trips with 100% safety record. Our skippers have full RYA certification and up to date training in boat handling and rescue techniques. Our trips are fully insured up to 20 miles from safe harbour (MCA Cat 4) and we carry the latest safety equipment.

 

Powerboat ‘Kin-Ell’

We operate a modified Ribeye Sport 785 Rigid Inflatable Boat and NEW for 2008 we have re-powered with a stunning 225hp Honda 4-stroke Outboard, which will ensure more fun in the turns and means we are capable of up to 35 knots in favourable conditions.

 

The boat carries up to 11 passengers plus the driver, in a combination of 8 jockey seats and one bench for up to 4 persons, plus an optional seat forward of the console.

 

We can accommodate younger children right through to seniors—our oldest rider to date was in her early 80’s! Provided you can manage the steps, we can take you.

STOP PRESS - NEWS FOR 2008

Hot on the heals of welcoming our new sponsors from the Atlantic Hotel, Carbis bay, we suffered what seemed at the time a minor fuelling issue.  Turned out to be a bit more serious in the shape of a burned out piston. With an engine at 700+ hours this isn’t usual, but just ‘one of those things’ that boat owners come to understand. Yamaha weren’t interested in the slightest so after some research we decided to go the Honda route, with a stunning BF225, a 3.3litre V6 VTEC beast. The engine is en-route and we anticipate being back in the water by the end of June.   Thanks for your support.
