About Rib Rides of St Ives Established in 2005 as a family run concern, we have now run over 700 hours of high speed and eco trips with 100% safety record. Our skippers have full RYA certification and up to date training in boat handling and rescue techniques. Our trips are fully insured up to 20 miles from safe harbour (MCA Cat 4) and we carry the latest safety equipment.
Powerboat ‘Kin-Ell’ We operate a modified Ribeye Sport 785 Rigid Inflatable Boat and new for last year we re-powered with a 225hp Honda 4-stroke Outboard, which will ensure more fun in the turns and means we are capable of up to 35 knots in favourable conditions.
The boat carries up to 11 passengers plus the driver, in a combination of 8 jockey seats and one bench for up to 4 persons, plus an optional seat forward of the console for the braver soul. We can accommodate younger children right through to seniors—our oldest rider to date was in her early 80’s! Provided you can manage the steps, we can take you. |

Season 2009 Well another season rolls around and by all accounts it could be just as tight as last year - but here’s hoping for better weather. We come back this year yet older and even wiser than last year - no more listening to b.s. , especially from people who want your money. We had an eventful year, what with engine failure, false promises, soaring fuel prices, sabotage and theft, so we are all hoping for some ‘plain sailing’ this year. Watch this space for more updates and info about our return to the harbour, sometime before Whitsun. Big thanks to all who helped us last year - Clive, John, Travers, Glenn and Anthony to name a few, and a big F***-YOU-VERY-MUCH to certain other parties (you know who you are, and so do the police.)
